There was a page on reddit called “196”, it had no set theme, the only rule was that you had to make a post every time you visited, naturally this caused it to be constantly full of low effort reposts. Now that reddit’s nuking itself, a lot of users are moving here. They’re trying to use Tumblr the same as how they used reddit, despite the fact that the sites work in fundamentally different ways. Tags are for categorizing things, tagging something “196” means nothing, it wastes space, especially when you don’t use any other tags with it. In short:
Stop tagging things 196 or you’re getting blocked
But I don’t have all the info, so you should check other people’s explanations too
196 was specifically a very left leaning and transgender space on reddit, and from what ive heard several of them are using the #196 tag to find the ppl who they already shared a community with.
